PURPOSE:To obtain a good color image through simple processing by incorporating an org. silver salt, a reducing agent, and an oxidative dye donor capable of releasing a thermodiffusive dye by thermodevelopment in a photosensitive element formed on a support. CONSTITUTION:A photosensitive element formed on a support contains an org. silver salt, a reducing agent, and an oxidative dye donor releasing a thermodiffusive dye on thermodevelopment. As said dye donor, a compd. represented by the shown formula. It is allowed to release a dye after being reduced and heated, and at exposed areas, a developing reducing agent is used for developing silver and itself is reduced, but at unexposed areas, the developing agent is used for reducing the oxidative dye donor, and this donor releases a dye on being heated. The released donor is diffused by heating to an image receiving layer to form an image. A sharp color image is obtained through thermodevelopment by properly setting the conditions of the dissolution physical development reaction of the org. silver salt, reaction for stopping the dye release by using this reaction, the dye release reaction and dye transfer. |
