The invention relates to a method for a PBX system which is not isolated from the exchange system and has a suffix dialling facility in the exchange system, an enquiry call facility and call forwarding in the PBX system. The specific object of the invention is intended to be that, in a system of this type, an exchange subscriber is not intended to be disturbed by suffix dialling on the extension and that, following prefix dialling of a code digit for an exchange connection which is to be set up, all digits are intended to be usable for subsequent subscriber dialling. The object is achieved in that, in the case of an exchange connection set up with the first code digit with suffix dialling within the PBX system, a loop relay detects suffix dialling with the first suffix dial pulse, the exchange connection is held and is switched over to internal feed and internal loop current monitoring, and that, in the case of an exchange connection set up with a second code digit and with subsequent suffix dialling, the switchover does not take place. The exchange subscriber is therefore not disturbed by internal dialling procedures. This invention relates to small, non-isolated PBX systems.
