A central cylindrical part 6 is arranged between the base part 1 and the connecting part 2, which are of identical size. The base part 1 and the connecting part 2 have longitudinally extending flutes 4 and annular grooves 3 of different width. An annular groove 5 is arranged in each case between the cylindrical part 6 and the base part 1 or the connecting part 2. Provided on the outside of the central cylinder part 6 are very fine flutes 4', which can also extend diagonally or in the form of a net. The end faces of the parts 1 and 2 each have a tip 7 or taper to a point. The joining element according to the invention facilitates reliable joining with the highest degree of tightness between the parts, the adhesive introduced into the bore hole being distributed virtually uniformly over the length of the inserted joining element. The diameter of the joining element is minimally larger than the diameter of the bore hole. The joining element can be produced from any materials, e.g. plastic, cast iron or a combination of different materials. <IMAGE>
