In a potential-isolating transmission of direct and pulse currents, it is also intended to transmit direct current of any duration and being rapidly variable in time, particularly having a steep-edged curve. This is achieved by the fact that the input current (i) is supplied or removed via the centre tap of the primary winding (w1) of a transformer, the first end (E1) of the primary winding is connected to the drain electrode of a first FET(T1) and to the gate electrode of a second FET(2), the second end (E2) of the primary winding is connected to the drain electrode of the second FET(T2) and the gate electrode of the first FET(T1), the input current is removed or supplied via the connected source electrodes of the two FETs and the output current (iA) is picked up either between the centre tap of the secondary winding (w2) and the outputs of the winding ends connected together after insertion of one rectifier element each (D1, D2), or from a rectifier bridge in the diagonal of which the secondary winding (w2) is located. The invention finds special application in the transmission of (continuous) starting pulses for power semiconductors and in the current transmission for monitoring and measuring. <IMAGE>
