A device for fastening insulating slabs (2, 3) to rafters (1) and for attaching roof-covering elements, in particular roof tiles, has a holder (6, 14) which can be fastened to a rafter and has a fastening portion (7) capable of being directly attached to the rafter, a supporting portion (8), situated at the lower end of the insulating slab, and a suspending portion (15) projecting upwards above the insulating slab. To provide a device which, with simply designed parts, does not form a cold bridge which bridges the gap between the insulating slab held by it and the following insulating slab down the roof, and in which the fastening portion and the supporting portion are provided only in the region of the rafter, the holder is formed from two cooperating holder parts (6, 7). The lower holder part (6), capable of being fastened to the rafter and corresponding approximately to the width thereof, possesses the fastening portion, the supporting portion and an engaging portion (9) which engages in a flat notch (S) situated in the insulating slab. The upper holder part (14), capable of being attached to the insulating slab and of extending at least between two rafters, possesses the suspending portion (15) and a positive-locking portion (18) which is intended for engagement in the notch which is situated in the insulating slab and also receives the engaging portion (Fig. 1).
