PURPOSE:To make easier the driving of a pile by a method in which a movable iron core between both fixed iron cores is alternately attracted by both the upper and lower iron cores each of which is attached with a drive coil in such a way as to cause it to be vibrated vertically. CONSTITUTION:When a variable frequency power source 11 is actuated, the upper drive coil 10a alone is electrified, a magnetic flux is generated in the upper fixed core 8a, and a movable core 13 is attracted upwards against the force of a spring by the attraction between the core 8a and the movable core 13. The core 13 is pushed back toward below by the repulsion of the spring 17, the lower drive coil 10b alone is electrified, and the core 13 is deviated downwards by the attraction between the lower fixed core 8b and the core 13. All loads on the cores 8a, 8b, and 13 and vertical vibration are applied to the pile 16 connected to the core 13, and thereby the pile 16 is smoothly driven.
