PURPOSE:To foresee breakout with high accuracy by utilizing the time serial change in the signal for the change rate of load, change rate of amplitude, etc. CONSTITUTION:The respective signals X1, X2, X3, X4 relating to the load outputted continuously from a dynamic strain gage 9 connected to load cells 61, 62 are passed through a low-pass filter 10 provided for each load cell and are then fed to an amplifier 11, by which the signals are amplified and are inputted to an arithmetic device 12. The signal relating to the casting speed from a pulse generator 8 attached to a pinch roll is also continuously inputted to the arithmetic device. Casting conditions such as casting size, the temp. of a molten metal, etc. are properly inputted to the device 12. The device 12 calculates an evaluation value and displays the result of calculation on a display device 13. When the generation of breakout is foreseen from the evaluation value, said foressing is announced to an operator by an alarm device 14. A recorder 15 records the evaluation value, the presence or absence of the generation of the breakout, the casting conditions, etc. |
