摘要 PURPOSE:To prepare an olefin polymer having broad molecular weight distribution and high moldability because of the high activity of the catalyst, by polymerizing an olefin using a novel catalyst composed of a specific solid component containing Cr, Ti, Mg, etc. and an organometallic compound. CONSTITUTION:The polymerization of an olefin is carried out by using a catalyst composed of (A) a solid component obtained by the partial oxidative calcination of a solid prepared by pulverizing (i) an anhydrous chromium halide (preferably anhydrous chromium trichloride) together with (ii) an anhydrous halide of a transition metal selected from titanium, zirconium and vanadium (preferably titanium trichloride, etc), (iii) an anhydrous magnesium halide (anhydrous magnesium chloride) and (iv) an inorganic oxide carrier (preferably silica for high activity catalyst) and (B) an organometallic compound (preferably organic Al compound, etc.). The partial oxidative calcination is preferably carried out at 400-600 deg.C.
