In a field chopper, some of the draw-in rollers (5, 6, 7) are driven directly, whilst others (8, 9) are preceded by a quick-cutoff safety coupling (26). When a foreign body enters the machine, these rollers (8, 9) can be cut off with a rapid stop. The special design of the cutoff safety coupling (26) makes it possible, when the cutoff is initiated, to interrupt the transmittable torque of the safety coupling (26) completely or partially. <IMAGE> |
