<p>PURPOSE:To pass the tail end of a band steel automatically from a reel to a rolling mill by calculating remaining coil diameter of rewinding side reel and changing driving of above-mentioned reel from current control to voltage control basing on signal of the result of calculation. CONSTITUTION:A current controlling device and a voltage controlling device are provided in driving controlling devices of left and right reels. The remaining diameter of rewinding side reel is calculated by an arithmetic unit and when the coil diameter corresponding to the length of band steel necessary for deceleration is attained, the driving of the reels is changed from current control to voltage control by a remaining diameter signal. Thus, the reel sends out the coil at equal speed with the rolling mill. When the tail end of the band steel passes a tail end detector provided between the rolling mill and rewinding reel, the rewinding side reel also changes current control to voltage control. In this way, the tail end of the band steel can be passed from the reeel to the rolling mill smoothly without stopping operation at each pass.</p> |
