<p>PURPOSE:To eliminate the need for individual sealing of segmental dies so that positioning is exactly accomplished and the dimensional accuracy of a core is improved by molding intricate cores as one body by one time of molding operation. CONSTITUTION:Cores 12a, 12b to be joined are fixed in the peak part of a stationary mold 5. Vice molds 2a, 2b are closed by the operation of a cylinder to constitute the finished external side face of an integrally joined core. A cylinder is then actuated to close loose pieces 3a, 3b, thereby constituting the finished side end face of the integrally joined core. A mandrel 4 ascends and advances to a prescribed position. An assembled bottom metallic mold is moved upward by a lifting device and is brought into press contact with a top metallic mold 1, by which assembling of the segmental molds is completed and the desired molding cavity is thoroughly constituted. Molding sand is then charged and packed through charging holes 16 for molding sand into the mold and catalytic gas is supplied to join integrally the joined core and the molding sand charged to enclose the same, by which the finished core is manufactured.</p> |
