KNITTED GARMENTS

A succession of integrally-joined blanks are knit on a circular machine, each tubular blank having an integral welt or selvedge separable from the next blank by a draw thread. Separtated blanks are flattened and the end further from the welt is shaped to form two superposed identical portions. The blank is refolded so the lengthwise center lines of the superposed portions become the blank edges. No separage waistline-hemming operation is needed to make up garments from the blanks.
