PURPOSE:To increase a display speed without deteriorating the processing capability of a data processor by providing an Arabic character controller, and analyzing the context of input data directly and performing necessary character form conversion. CONSTITUTION:Data represented in 54 kinds of character codes corresponding to basic characters are inputted to an input/output device 2. Data from the device 2 are stored in a main memory device 6 normally through an input/output adapter 3 under the control of a program processor 1. An Arabic character controller 4, however, is placed between an adapter 3 and an output buffer memory 5 and data whose context is to be analyzed is inputted to this controller 4 under the control of the processor 1. Then, the controller 4 performs context analysis and character form code conversion under the control of the processor 1 and transfers the result to the memory 5. Thus, the context processing time of a program is eliminated to reduce the load on the processor 1 and also improve a display speed.
