In a method of tempering objects air or another gaseous medium having a low overtemperature is blown with high velocity onto an object to be tempered. An apparatus for tempering objects comprises means for heating the medium and exhaust means (2,4,22,24) for exhausting the heated medium with high velocity in jets directed towards the object (20,42) to be tempered. Further, in a methodfor transmitting overpressure through a passage which is blocked for dynamic pressure a static pressure Is produced across the orifice of the passage. The tempering is primarily intended to be used for de-icing and drying vehicles, in particular railway wagons and trucks, but can also be used for example for tempering of material which in winter is stored outdoors before further treatment of the material, for instance in a welding shop. The temperingcan also be used for thawing frozen products. The method of transmitting overpressure can be used to protect spaces against undesired admission of gas where dynamic pressure cannot be used for this purpose. (Fig. 4).
|
