PURPOSE:To obtain a magnetic head device which abuts on a magnetic tape excellently, facilitates the finishing of the gap depth of a core, and has high magnetic efficiency without any spacing loss, by fitting plural head cores to a curved tape guide so that their gap lines are directed to the center of curvature of the tape guide. CONSTITUTION:The magnetic head cores 4 and 5 are fitted so that the gap lines 6 and 7 are directed to the center O of curvature, front parts 10 and 11 including gaps 8 and 9 are projected from the tape guide 1, and slide surfaces 12 and 13 are formed symmetrically about the gaps 8 and 9. Namely, the centers of curvature of the slide surfaces 12 and 13 are on the gap lines 6 and 7. Consequently, the gaps 8 and 9 are present on the center of the slide surfaces 12 and 13 of the magnetic head cores 4 and 5, so the surfaces contact a magnetic tape without any spacing loss, improving the magnetic efficiency. Then, the slide surfaces 12 and 13 contact the magnetic tape entirely, so a head touch is improved. |
