The concrete road surfacing blocks each have a rectangular (square 220x220 mm) lower portion (e.g. 45 mm high) and an upper portion (e.g. 85 mm high). Two opposite sides are provided with contoured outward projections (protruding e.g. 30 mm max. outside the lower portion and the other portion) and other opposite sides with complementary contoured recesses. - The projections and recesses are dimensioned and contoured such that blocks can be laid to fit together overlappingly side by side to provide mutual support in vertical direction. When laid, the joins present regular wave-shaped patterns (20% of the blocks shown cover 1 sq.m).
