PURPOSE:To make it possible to perform a printing output test by an arbitrary character or pattern, by reading printing data from an external memory apparatus through selector by the indicated information due to a printing format indicating switch in OFF line. CONSTITUTION:In OFF-line, a controller 3 separates a data treating apparatus and a printer apparatus 2 by an ON-line/OFF-line change over switch 4 and changes over a printing format selector 5 while sends the content of a printing format indicating switch 6 to a format control part 12. On the other hand, an OFF-line printing data transmission part 11 reads the printing data from the flexible disc apparatus 10 provided to the outside through a control apparatus 9 by printing indication while the read printing data is converted to an output pattern under the control of the control part 12 by a pattern converting part 15 or image buffer 16 and a character generator 4 to be printed through printing buffer 17. By this method, a printing output test can be performed by an arbitrary test character or pattern and a printer apparatus can be effectively put into practical use. |
