PURPOSE:To make it possible to simply and surely carry out the drop-out of a mirror stay, by attaching, to a vehicle body, a securing member which is held in an attaching hole formed in a mirror stay, so that the securing member is deformed when external force applied thereto, thereby it comes off from the attaching hole. CONSTITUTION:A securing member 5 is fitted in an attaching hole 4 that is formed in a mirror stay for supporting at its free end a room mirror, in the mounting part of the mirror stay which is attached to a vehicle body. A female screw thread 4a is formed in the attaching hole 4, and a screw hole 6 is formed in the bottom of the hole 4. Further a male screw thread 5a which is threadedly engaged with the female screw thread 4a is formed in the securing member 5 which has inner and outer cylinders 5b, 5c in a doubled-shape, the outer cylinder 5c being formed with a plurality of notches 7 for ease bend. Upon assemblying the securing member 5 which is beforehand screwed in the attaching hole 4, is attached to a plate in a vehicle body by a screw 8. When external force is applied to the mirror stay 1, the securing member 5 is deformed so that it comes off from the attaching hole 4, resulting in that the mirror stay 1 drops out. |
