<p>PURPOSE:To improve the quality of magnified picture by sampling an input video signal by a horizontal sampling frequency decided by the ratio of the horizontal scanning line to the number of vertical picture elements. CONSTITUTION:The input video signal VS is separated at separating circuits 11-13, a color signal is outputted to a sample-and-hold circuit 18, and horizontal and vertical synchronizing signals are outputted to delay circuits A14, B15. When an output of a command switch 16 is at high level, a delay circuit 15 is enabled in order to sample 960 picture elements and when low level, a delay circuit A14 is enabled to sample 640 picture elements. An output of the command switch 16 is outputted also to a picture processing circuit 21, where interpolation operation is executed. Thus, a picture with improved quality is obtained even at magnification without incurring deterioration in the resolution.</p> |
