The wall (1) is inserted in a vertical trench dug in the soil. Each wall section (2) has on one side a coupling tube (3) and a longitudinal slotted tube (4) at the opposite side. The tube (3) fits with clearance in the slotted tube. The outer coupling tube has on the inside a protruding rib (8), whilst the inner coupling tube (3) has a complementary longitudinal slot (9). The cavity between the two coupling tubes is filled with a plastics of closed cell structure which expands when hardened, and then consolidates the two tubes. The walls pref. of polyethylene may also be made of metal or a bitumous material. The cavity filling method includes use of a pressurised nozzle.
