<p>PURPOSE:To detect the touch position correctly, rapidly and with a high resolution by providing plural pairs of oppositely arranged light emitting means and photodetecting means, selecting the prescribed number of pairs in it, operating it simultaneously and photodetecting the light only from the light emitting means to form a pair at respective photodetecting means. CONSTITUTION:When light emitting elements 4a-4h emit the light, photo detecting elements 5a-5h to form the element pair with these are photodetected. When the prescribed position of a displaying surface 6 is touched with fingers, at least one of photodetecting elements 5a-5b and 5e-5h is shaded, the photodetecting element shaded from the output of outputs 5a-5h is decided, and thereby, the touch position on the displaying surface 6 is decided. The photodetecting elements 5a-5h photodetect the light only of the facing light emitting elements 4a-4h, for the output of the photodetecting element and the light emitting element, the touch position is displayed on the displaying surface 6 through latch circuits 7 and 8, and thereby, the touch position can be detected correctly, rapidly and with a high resolution.</p> |
