PURPOSE:To provide an excessive flow preventing valve which has a high adaptability to a small diameter gas passage and which is simple in its structure and its manufacturing, by fitting a valve retainer member for supporting a ball valve, in a valve seat in a cylindrical body disposed in the gas passage directed upward, and as well by forming a gas communication passage around the retainer member. CONSTITUTION:A vertical cylinder 12a provided in its upper outer surface with a male thread 13, is formed in its upper inner surface with a valve seat 14 which is defined by a tapered surface upward reducing its diameter, and as well a stepped part 15 is formed around its lower inner surface. A valve retainer member 16a comprising a cylindrical part 17 having its inside vertically piercing therethrough and a lower end flange 18 integrally incorporated with the cylindrical part 17, is disposed in the cylinder 12a by a snap ring 19 fitted in the cylinder 12a, and a ball valve 20 associated with the valve seat 14 is supported on the top opening edge 17a of the cylindrical part 17. Side openings 21, 21 communicating between the outside and inside of the cylindrical part 17 on both side thereof, are formed in the peripheral side surface of the cylindrical part 17 of the valve retainer member 16 near to the flange of the cylindrical part 17 so that a gas passage is established from an annular gap 22 to a valve opening 23. |
