PURPOSE:To obtain the titled material superior in fastness and reproducibility of a color image by forming a silver halide emulsion layer contg. a specified cyan dye forming coupler on a support. CONSTITUTION:A cyan dye forming coupler of formula IV is obtained by reacting amine of formula I (X is a group releasable upon the oxidation coupling reaction with a developing agent and Z is a nonmetallic atomic group forming a 5--6-membered ring having at least one hetero atom) with a corresponding isocyanate of formula II or a phenylurethane of formula III (R is optionally substd. alkyl, aryl, or heterocyclic) in the presence or absence of a basic catalyst at 60-120 deg.C. Then, a support is coated with a red sensitive silver halide emulsion layer contg. said coupler in an amt. of 2X10<-3>-5X10<-1>mol per mole of silver halide, a green sensitive silver halide emulsion layer contg. a magenta forming coupler, and a blue sensitive silver halide emulsion layer contg. a yellow forming coupler. |
