PURPOSE:To facilitate assembling operation and mass-production by arranging the coupling-side end surface of a single-port side optical fiber cable opposite to one end surface of a light guide part and the bundle-part end surface of multiple- port side optical fiber cables opposite to the other end surface of the light guide part. CONSTITUTION:This optical brancher and coupler consists of a receptacle 3 which holds a plug 2 attached to the coupling-side end part of one single-port side optical fiber cable 1, a holder 7 incorporating the light guide part 6 which receives light from one end surface and projects it from the other end surface, a sleeve 10 attached to a bundling part 9 where plural multiple-port side optical fibers 8 are each bundled at one terminal part, and cases 11 and 12 which hold the receptacle 3, holder 7, and sleeve 10 together so that the coupling-side end surface 1a of the single-port-side optical fiber cable 1 faces one end surface 6b of the light guide 6 and the bundling part end surface 9a of the multiple- port side optical fiber cables 1 faces the other end surface 6b. |
