PURPOSE:To simply carry-out reconstruction work by cutting the stern part of an old hull and taking-out the front part from a dock and drawing-in the hold part of a new hull constructed separately and the front part of the old hull and transferring a tank between the holds of the both hulls and then installing the bow part of the new hull. CONSTITUTION:The center hold part 2A of a new hull for accommodating an LNG storage tank is constructed beforehand and launched. Meanwhile, an old hull 3 is docked, setting the stern part 3A to the dock head side, and the front part including an engine-room part is separated, and the front part 3B of the old hull is taken-out from the dock 4. Then, the center hold part 2A of the new hull which is constructed separately is docked, and further the front part 3B of the hold hull 3 is docked so as to be opposed to the center hold part 2A of the new hull. A tank 1 is transferred to the new hold 6 from the old hold 5 through a rail 7, and the old hull 3B is pulled-out from the dock 4, and the bow part and the transverse bulkhead are installed onto the center hold part 2A of the new hull.
