PURPOSE:To provide a blow molding polyolefin compsn. having a low melt viscosity and a high melt tension at a high shear rate, by incorporating an acid (derivative) unit in a polyolefin in a specified equivalent ratio. CONSTITUTION:An acid (derivative) is grafted onto a polyolefin such as high- density polyethylene or polypropylene to incorporate 10<-5>-10<-6>g equivalents of the acid (derivative) unit per g of polyolefin, thus obtaining the desired blow molding polyolefin compsn. Preferred examples of the acids (derivatives) are (meth)acrylic acid, fumaric acid, maleic acid, tetrahydrophthalic acid, and their anhydrides and esters. When the resulting polyolefin compsn. is used, it becomes possible to blow mold polymers having higher melt flow index, a problem of surface roughening is eliminated, the molding at a higher rate becomes possible and larger moldings can be obtd.
