Dryer comprises a thermoelectric module sandwiched between a heat sink and a heat exchanger having an air passage with one dimension of 0.020-0.070 inch, and a fan pulling ambient air through the sink to dissipate the heat. A d.c. supply is connected to the module and the current is periodically reversed while simultaneously switching air flow from the exchanger between different exit paths. - The dimension is pref. 0.030 inch and the exchanger has internal fins connected alternately to opposing surfaces to form the passage. For drying, the exchanger is cooled by the module so that moisture freezes onto the passage walls, then when the passage becomes largely blocked the current is reversed to heat the walls and remove the ice. The current is pref. reversed by a switch which also controls an exchanger discharge valve. (0/2)
