Carbonylation of olefin(s) and organic ester(s)

Additional to main patent 513956, propylene is carbonylated by (a) forming a liq. mixt. of CO and anhydrous HF, (b) reacting the mixt. with propylene at 40-60 deg.C. under 39-340 bar pressure, with molar ratio of CO to propylene of 1.1-5 and molar ratio of HF to propylene of 10-20, with dwell time 0.2-310 minutes, to give high yields of isobutyryl fluoride.
