PURPOSE:To maintain the uniform temp. distribution in casting mold blocks and to decrease thermal stress and strain by forming plural casting surfaces on the peripheral surfaces of said blocks, and changing the attitudes of the respective mold blocks thereby exchanging successively the casting surfaces. CONSTITUTION:Mechanisms 28 for changing the attitudes of casting mold blocks consisting of sprockets 15, guides 23, 24 for preventing slip-off, and guides for regulating attitudes are incorporated in block moving systems 12, 13 to exchange successively the casting surfaces to be utilized. The surfaces A and B of the blocks 10 are switched alternately while making one round on endless tracks and therefore the top and bottom sufaces of the blocks 10 contact uniformly with a molten steel, by which a uniform temp. distribution is maintained. Thermal stress and strain are thus decreased, the wear in the parts that contact with the molten steel is decreased, and the life is extended. |
