A new kind of absorbent for cats, manufactured based on hemp chaff or sugar cane bagasse, compressed into granules, which are mixed with compacted and granulated slaked lime. The product is packaged in bags or refills of appropriate dimensions and manufacture, which are manufactured from heat-sealable flexible films, which are adapted to cat trays and are disposed of when all the absorbent which they contain has been soiled. The material from which the film employed is made is mixed with a specific deodorant for cat litters, this being done even before the film is extruded.
