PURPOSE:To perform immediately the processing for abnormality of various machine instructions and increase the instruction processing capability by setting the maximum time of execution needed for each of various machine instructions and producing an error signal after detecting that the next instruction is not started even when said maximum execution time elapses. CONSTITUTION:A machine instruction word is executed by a processor 1 of an instruction execution monitor device, and an instruction code signal PD showing the type of the instruction word is delivered together with an instruction execution starting signal FX. The time data signal TM showing the maximum for execution of instruction is delivered from an ROM2 which supplies the signal PD. Then a clock generator 3 produces a clock CK having a cycle decided by the signal TM. A counter 4 is set at its initial value with the clock CK. An error signal ER is applied to the processor 1 from an error signal generator 5 when the difference between the value indicated by the count signal CT and the initial value is larger than the maximum execution time of instruction. Then various machine instruction words are applied to the processor 1 from a machine word memory 6. Thus the instruction processing capability is increased. |
