PURPOSE:To remove foreign matter adhered to the surface very effectively by bringing a blowing member close to the surface of a magnetic tape in a non- contact state and blowing off foreign matter by air, and providing the blowing member inside of the bent passage of the magnetic tape. CONSTITUTION:The device is provided with an air blowing member 4 placed in the passage of a magnetic tape, an air source 5 that sends clear filtered air by pressure to the blowing member 4 and an air filter 6 that filters air sucked by the air source 5. A tension device gives specified tension to the magnetic tape so that the magnetic tape 2 is pressed against the surface of the blowing member 4. Larger the tension used for the magnetic tape 4 the nearer comes the magnetic tape 2 to the surface of the blowing member 4. Accordingly, when the tension of the magnetic tape 2 is made larger, air blowing pressure of the blowing member 4 is made higher or blowing area is made larger to enlarge the quantity of air. |
