SUBPOLE REMOVER FOR PASSIVE SONAR

PURPOSE:To remove a received signal of a subpole equivalently by setting a threshold based on the maximum value detected from an output signal at each frequency spectrum to zero the signals below the threshold. CONSTITUTION:The maximum value is detected from an output signal with a maximum value detection circuit 52 at each frequency spectrum of a passive sonar analyzed in terms of the intensity of signals for each frequency spectrum. The maximum value is multiplied by a specific coefficient (a) with a multiplier 54 to set a threshold for each frequency spectrum. Then, output signal is compared with the threshold by a signal processing section 53 at each frequency spectrum and outputted as intact when exceeding the threshold while it is made to zero when below the threshold. Thus, the received signal by a subpole of beam can be removed equivalently thereby preventing errors in the detection of a target and determination on the type thereof.
