PURPOSE:To improve the corrosion resistance of the resulting titled Al alloy when the alloy is combined with the material of sacrificial anode fins as well as the extrusibility and brazability by providing a specified composition consisting of Cu, Ti, B, Be and the balance Al with impurities. CONSTITUTION:This Al alloy for the tubes of a heat exchanger has a composition consisting of 0.2-0.8% Cu, 0.001-0.05% Ti, 0.1ppm-0.03% B, 1-10ppm Be and the balance Al with impurities. The alloy shows superior pitting corrosion resistance when it is used as the material of tubes for passing a working fluid in a heat exchanger in which the alloy is combined with sacrificial anode fins and brazed. The alloy has superior extrusibility and brazability.
