An improved process for coating sliding surfaces, especially bed tracks on machine tools, is disclosed in which the material acting as sliding coating is introduced into the groove of the sliding surface and then pressed against the counterplate by injecting a curing synthetic resin compound and held smoothly shaped after the curing of the synthetic resin compound, thus avoiding both a finishing as well as a transfer of the sliding material to the counterplate. <IMAGE>
