<p>A blowhead apparatus including a blowhead arm (2) and a blowhead body (10) having at least one blowhead (12, 14) in it. The blowhead body (10) is removably connected to the blowhead arm (2). The blowhead (12, 14) includes a retaining member (54), a seating member (82) mounted on a sealed bearing (78), and a sealing ring (90) having a seating surface (88) mating with a seating surface (86) on the seating member (82). A fluid system for supplying high and low pressure air includes a sealed pilot operated shuttle valve (130) for controlling the high and low pressure air, a pilot valve (116) for controlling the shuttle valve (130), and on-off valve (118) for the low pressure air. The present apparatus permits quick and easy removal of the blow heads from the forming machine, while minimizing undesirable leakage of air during the blowing operation. </p> |
