PURPOSE:To provide the titled composition having excellent gloss and workability, and composed of specific amounts of SiO2; B2O3; Na2O, K2O and/or Li2O; TiO2; ZrO2; P2O5; and Sb2O3, CaO, BaO, ZnO, MgO and/or SrO. CONSTITUTION:(A) 40-60wt% of SiO2, (B) 10-20wt% of B2O3, (C) 10-20wt% of Na2O, K2O and/or Li2O, (D) 12-22wt% of TiO2, (E) 2-10wt% of ZrO2; (F) 1-5wt% of P2O5, and (G) 0-10wt% of Sb2O3, CaO, BaO, ZnO, MgO and/or SrO, are mixed together, melted at 1,200-1,300 deg.C and quenched. A halogen-free frit composition having excellent hot-water resistance, alkali resistance and acid resistance, and inert to stainless steel can be produced by the process.
