METALLIC MAGNETIC POWDER AND ITS MANUFACTURE

摘要

PURPOSE:To obtain metallic magnetic powder having high coercive force and high saturation magnetization by coating iron-base needlelike particles with a Zr component and an Si component. CONSTITUTION:Needlelike particles contg. iron hydroxide or iron oxide as the principal component is treated with a Zr compound and an Si compound by sticking, adsorption or dipping, and the treated particles are reduced at about 300-600 deg.C in a reducing atmosphere. The particles as a starting material are almost prevented from being sintered and deformed only by coating the surfaces of the particles with said compounds before reduction, so metallic magnetic powder having a sharp needlelike crystal form, high coercive force and high saturation magnetization can be obtd.
