<p>PURPOSE:To prevent breakage of a trap and have efficient reproduction by furnishing a means to control combustion of a duty burner so as to provide appropriate heat supply in accordance with the trap temp. when the set value is exceeded by the engine exhaust pressure obtained through actual sensing. CONSTITUTION:A trap 2 collects fine particles included in the exhaust gas from a Diesel engine. A burner 6 oxidizes these particles collected by the trap 2 and removes them, wherein the amount of heat emission from this burner 6 is controllable externally using a control means 14. The control means 14 has a function to specify the allowable exhaust pressure in order to set the engine exhaust pressure, wherein the allowance is determined according to the number of revolutions and the load of the Diesel engine, and a function to make combustion control of the burner by determining the heat amount and heating time required to provide sufficient oxidation on the basis of actual measurements of trap temp. and thereby performing the optimum supply to the trap when the exhaust pressure sensed has exceeded the allowable level.</p> |
