Edible hollow members to be filled with ice cream or other fillers are arranged parallel to each other on a conveyor 1 such that the longitudinal axes of the members extend transversely to the direction of travel. Two charging devices 5, 5' are provided to fill the hollow members. Each charging device is mounted on a respective carriage 6, 6' for movement longitudinally of the conveyor, and each charging device comprises at least two charging tubes (7) arranged to be moved into and out of respective hollow members. A flexible filler feed pipe 10 communicates with each of the charging tubes. In operation, the conveyor continuously moves the hollow members, and the filler is continuously fed by the feed pipe. The two charging devices are alternately operated such that when the charging tubes (7) of one charging device 5 are moving into respective hollow members the charging tubes (7) of the other charging device 5' are moving out of respective hollow members and thus filling these hollow members. <IMAGE> |
