PURPOSE:To effectively prevent the inter-electrode gap discharge from being interrupted and unify the discharge current by connecting an inductance and a capacitor in series together and also in parallel with an inter-electrode gap between a wire electrode and a work. CONSTITUTION:This power source is provided with an auxiliary switching circuit consisting of a voltage source E1 higher than the discharge voltage, a resistor R1, and a transistor Tr1; a main switching circuit consisting of a voltage source E2, resistors R2-Rn, and transistors Tr2-Trn, and having a peak current value larger than that of the above circuit; and an oscillating circuit 4. A power feeder 3, e.g., coaxial cable, is connected to an inter-electrode gap between a wire electrode 1 and a work 2, and also detection lines 5, 6 detecting the discharge occurrence at the inter-electrode gap are connected to the oscillating circuit 4. In addition, a serial circuit of an inductance 7 and a capacitor 8 is connected in parallel with the said inter-electrode gap. Accordingly, the desired objective can be effectively achieved. |
