PURPOSE:To easily realize the positioning of a detection means to an optimum position and effective cooling, by making the detection means and inner pipe of a neutron detector movable and flowing a cooling medium to the vicinity thereof. CONSTITUTION:By rotating an inner pipe to the direction along which a spiral guide fine 24 extends, the outer peripheral end of the guide fin 24 is slid in a guide groove and a neutron detector 20 is made movable to the axial direction along with the inner pipe 22. By this method, the neutron detector 20 can be acculately located at an optimum position. A cooling medium is introduced through the inside of the inner pipe 22 as shown by an arrow to reach the vicinity of the neutron detector 20. By this method, the neutron detector 20 is cooled.
