PURPOSE:To prevent chips from entering the inside of a pipe by limiting the cutting depth of the pipe by a cutter to a prescribed thickness by means of a guide ring finely adjusted by a micrometer and cutting the wall thickness part of the pipe not yet cut by means of a knife, etc. CONSTITUTION:A cutter 2 is made rotatable around the outer periphery of a pipe being a workpiece by means of a driving shaft 3. In order to difine the cutting depth of the pipe by the centripetally lowering of the cutter 2 toward a pipe shaft center, a micrometer 4 provided with a function controlling a lowering operation region of the cutter 2 as well as a function reading both movement of the cutter by a small amount and the amount itself of said cutter movement is attached to a cutter supporting tool 5 via a fixing tool 6. Upon cutting any workpiece, after assuming that a gap H between the guide ring 1 and the cutter 2 mounted on the tip of the micrometer 4 is set by subtracting a thickness capable of being cut by means of a knife, etc., from the thickness of the pipe, the cutter 2 is lowered to cut the workpiece. And, the wall thickness left behind is cut off by means of a knife, etc., allowing a prescribed purpose to be attained. |
