PURPOSE:After they are synthesized, specific 8 peptide fragments are subjected to sequential condensation reactions in order to enable the efficient production of polypeptide which is effective to somatotropine deficiency, further expected as a remedy for wounds and as an antiulcerative agent. CONSTITUTION:On the synthesis of a polypeptide having the aminoacid sequence shown in formula IX, which has been found in the extract from human pancreatic tumor and a strong action to promote the somatotropin excretion, 8 fragments of polypeptides I -VIII are synthesized separately, then the fragment I with protected group is subjected to condensation reaction with the fragment IIwith protected groups, then the resultant condensate is subjected to next condensation reaction with the fragment III with protected groups, this operations are repeated to effect the condensation reaction of fragments IV, V, VI, VII and VIII. Finally, the deprotection is effected to give the polypeptide of formula IX. The condensation process and used is preferably the one which causes no racemization, especially the azide process, and the deprotection is effected by the process using trifluoromethanesulfonic acid.
