PURPOSE:To obtain an LED of a brightness of 1.8 times by a method wherein two light emitting elements are provided in one LED and then connected in series by means of three lead wires. CONSTITUTION:The LED has the three leads 11-13 arranged in an almost straight line. Recesses 21 and 22 are provided at the tops of the leads 11 and 12, and the light emitting elements 14 and 15 are mounted, respectively. The other electrode of the element 14 is connected to one of bonding stages 12a and 12b provided at the top of the recess 22, and the other electrode of the element 15 to the top surface of the lead 13, respectively by means of bonding wires 16 and 17. This constitution enables to obtain an LED having the arrangement of light emitting elements in series in two pieces without changing said elements. |
