PURPOSE:To enable a pressure buffering chamber with a large volume to be obtained readily so as to make a V-type engine compact and to improve the breather performance, by forming a pressure buffering chamber between right and left banks of right and left cylinder blocks of a V-type engine. CONSTITUTION:In an OHC-type V-type-engine, the closed pressure buffering chamber 27 is formed between the right and left banks 2, 3 of the cylinder blocks 4 and is in communication with the inside of a crank-case 8 via a relatively small diameter communication hole 26, etc. The right and left side walls of the pressure buffer chamber 27 are formed by opposed wall sections 4a of the cylinder blocks 4 of the right and left banks 2, 3, and the top of the pressure buffering chamber 27 is closed airtightly by a lid member 29 via a sealing material 28. The undersurface of the lid member 29 is provided with a baffle plate 31, and the space between the baffle plate 31 and the lid member 29 is in communication with a suction passage 14 of a surge tank 18 via a connection passage 33 having a pressure control valve 32. Further the pressure buffering chamber 27 is in communication with the inside of a cylinder head 11 via an oil return passage 36. |
