PURPOSE:To permit to improve starting property without consuming useless electric power by a method wherein an electric heater for heating suction air is conducted when cooling water temperature is lower than a predetermined value and the time span of conduction is set in accordance with the cooling water temperature. CONSTITUTION:When an engine key switch 13 is put ON and the engine cooling water temperature TW, detected by a water temperature sensor 14, is lower than a predetermined value Ta, a control unit 12 closes a relay switch 11 and conducts respective electric heaters 9, provided at the branch pipes 3 of a suction manifold 2 for heating the suction air, from an electric source 10 of batteries to heat the suction air. After the time span (t)sec, set in accordance with the cooling water temperature TW, has elapsed, the relay switch 11 is opened and an indicator lamp 15 is put off. Thus, the useless electric power will never be consumed and the starting property of the internal-combustion engine may be improved. |
