In the case of a multiple-speed gearbox (9) for motor vehicles with two countershafts (2, 3) on which idler wheels (4, 5) connectable to the respective countershaft are supported, the two countershafts can be driven alternately by means of two simultaneously actuatable clutches (10, 11) which can be shifted under load. The one clutch (10) is provided in a known manner with a spring (14), which holds it in the coupling position, and the other clutch (11) is equipped with a spring (14) which acts to release this clutch. Both clutches (10, 11) can be actuated by a pressure medium and in addition are jointly releasable by means of a clutch pedal (20). As a result only one pressure medium line is required for both clutches and they may serve as drive clutch. <IMAGE> |
