PURPOSE:To enable the sure production of a high-quality polished rice of normal temperature in a mass, by using a conditioner for polished rice furnished with an air-cooling device and an air-humidifying device to cool the polished rice quickly by supplying the polished rice with chilled and humid air having lower temperature than the polished rice to be conditioned and high humidity than the equillibrium humidity to the moisture in the polished rice. CONSTITUTION:The polished rice conditioner 1 which is a screen-type conditioner having grain paths 4 constructed of perforated side walls 3, 3 is furnished with an air- cooling device 20 and an air-humidifying device 21 to cool the polished rice quickly by supplying the polished rice with chilled and humid air having lower temperature than the polished rice to be conditioned and higher humidity than the equilibrium humidity to the moisture in the polished rice. The air-humidifying device 21 is provided with a humidity controlling device 25 to measure the humidity of the exhausted chilled and humid air and control the humidity of the device 21 continuously by the measured value. The polished rice supplied to the conditioner 1 can be cooled to a prescribed temperature while keeping the water-content to the level equilibrium to a specific humidity. Accordingly, a large amount of polished rice of normal temperature free from cracks caused by rapid cooling and having high quality can be prepared surely, in a short time. |
