PURPOSE:To decrease the content of the iron-component in the molten zinc in a duct by providing an electromagnetic inductor in the upper part of a continuous galvanizing cell, installing a refractory pipe in the lower part thereof, and inducing flow in the molten zinc enclosed by the airtight duct. CONSTITUTION:An electromagnetic inductor 8 is provided in the upper part of a galvanizing cell 1 and a refractory pipe 10 having a grooved hole 11 in contact with the lower part thereof is installed. The inductor 8 generates an advancing magnetic field when electricity is supplied thereto. The molten zinc 2 near the other end 13b of a conduit 13 connecting to the hole 11 is attracted by said magnetic field and is discharged through the conduit 12 at the other end into an airtight duct. If the direction of the advancing magnetic field is reversed, the molten zinc 2' in an airtight duct 7 is discharged from the other end 13b of the conduit 13. The molten zinc 2' in the part enclosed by the duct 7 is thus substd. at all times. Even if the iron-component eluting from a steel strip 4 enters the zinc 2' enclosed by the duct 7, the iron-component is dispersed over the entire part of the cell 1. |
